One Last Word On The Oscars February 28, 2011

I actually saw a couple of the nominated films this year, which is unusual, because my taste and that of the academy do not usually run even near to parallel. But I did catch both “Inception” and “The Kids Are Alright”, since one involved dreams and a bunch of stuff blowing up and the other involved lesbians, one of whom was Annette Benning, so I thought there might be sufficient entertainment value to warrant a look-see. Now that Anne Hathaway mentioned being overlooked despite her nude scene in “Love And Other Drugs”, I’ll add that to my DVD list for the summer. I’ll also grudgingly add “The Kings Stilts” (whoops, I meant “Speech”), since I need to find what all the fuss is about. I’m prejudiced going in however…damned Brits think they sound smarter than us even when they’re stuttering.
