It’s like a gift from Baby Jesus.  Sarah Palin resigning?  I can’t help but wonder if this was some bizarre self-test of her influence (“Can I knock the MJ AND Sanford coverage off the front page and for how long?”)

I’m trying to envision her claiming readiness for office in 2012 when she can’t even handle the press in Alaska during a week when no one was paying the slightest attention to her.  Lady, you’re an insult to career women everywhere.  If you can’t hack it, go home, raise your kids, and no one will think badly of you, but don’t dare ramble on about how the press made it impossible to do your job when _you’re_ the one who wouldn’t shut up and just _do_ your job.

She was, is, and always will be batshit crazy, but so are her most ardent fans, so it works out.
