Chances are we’ll never agree on Robert Gibbs. I’ll still take him anytime anywhere anyway over Dana Perino.
Bummer on that Lakers thing. How many pictures of Jack Nicholson sitting courtside are you going to have to endure for the next couple of weeks? Go Magic.

Laugh Riot May 31, 2009

Among the highlights:
MR. GIBBS: Well, I don’t want to — I shouldn’t be the spokesperson for accumulated wisdom. (Laughter.)
Q: Did you know he was coming?
MR. GIBBS: Did I know he was coming? No, I didn’t know he was coming. No, we would have put a fancy seal up and everything.
Q: No offense, but you’re kind of a let-down now. (Laughter.)
MR. GIBBS: Well, you guys are, too. (Laughter.)
There have been a few days of near-laughterlessness — on March 10 and March 27, there were just two instances of “(Laughter.)” — but no Gibbs press briefing has been entirely devoid of giggles.
I take it back = this guy’s Henny Youngman (don’t worry, it’s a geezer reference)

I don’t think I’d entirely agree that presidential press secretary Robert Gibbs is somehow becoming world reknowned for his arrogance. Let’s face it, the job description basically includes lying, obsfucating, and evading, all while maintaining plausible deniability. Over the years, some have done it better than others. Gibbs at least does his job with a sense of humor. The man has great ad libs and seems to possess an appreciation of irony. Say what you will, but I’ll take Gibbs anyday over the smarmy self-righteous screechs of fingernails-on-a-blackboard Dana Perino.

Forever Blowing Bubbles
Katy Perry may have kissed a girl and Adam Lambert says we should “keep speculating”, but in her Rolling Stone interview, Lady Ga Ga lets us know that her taste for girls “intimidates the men in her life”. I know that’s it’s tough to keep up with the love lives of the celebrities, but as LRC’s lesbian correspondent, I feel it’s my responsibility to do anything I can to pander to my readers and get as many hits on the blog as humanly possible. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Arrogance May 30, 2009

With respect to the allegations of rape photographs at Abu Ghraib, if they do exist, I am in accord with not publishing them however I would hope the perpetrators are put on trial. Yes. yes, I know about the public’s right to know but we don’t put every photograph taken of a sexual assault in civilian cases in the papers so as long as there is proper prosecution the nonpublication doesn’t bother me. I would think that if sexual assault did occur and there wee photos then identifying the prpetrators wouldn’t be that difficult.
On that issue, Robert Gibbs has dismissed the British press and the Telegraph that initially reported the story wit the type of arrogance he is becoming known for.

Anyone who has followed me knows I root against the Lakers.
So I’ve become a Magic/Cavs fan.
Go Dwight Howard.
Go LeBron.
